From the outside, this building looks strong, and well maintained. Parking lot is available for many cars. White color make this building more elegant. Entering the building, old atmosphere will gone. Automatic doors made of glass will welcome the guests who came. And will continue with a metal detector scanning by security guard. Too secure for a museum. Lobby looks so luxurious and so comfort even in the hot & shinny day, because this building was air conditioned. So cool...

Like typical Dutch's heritage building, above the entrance door of the Museum of Bank Indonesia there is a beautiful stained glass mosaic. This stained glass is made by Dutch artist named Ian Sihouten Frinsenhouf with a total of 1509 pieces of glass. Go through revolving door (which does not use anymore), we will see the receptionist desk in modern style. You may not bring your bags inside, even woman handbags. Put all your bags here, but bring all your valuable things. Entrance fee to this museum is FREE. No charge at all..

Inside the museum we can see a hi-tech system, big LCD screen explains the history of the museum interactively with touch screen panel in the Kiosk, and equipped with a parabolic speaker, so the sound is focused on the visitors who are under the coverage of the speakers. Then we go through the 'transition room'. In this room there is a special projector that will display the coins flying in the air and when we can 'catch' the coin it will provide information about the coin. Then we will see a theater that will provide explanations on the process of printing, distribution of money, and Bank Indonesia's jobs & regulations.

From the theater, we will see a museum with modern design, so different with other museum in Indonesia. All were well build design. There are settings about the dock in old Batavia style, and also setting about a Dutch customer who go to the bank to deposit money. Here we can see the history of Bank Indonesia and also the function of Bank Indonesia. There is also a encyclopedia about banks that are given the title "Yang Seru Yang Lucu" (The Wacky Fun Stuff), it tell us about idiom in banking and where it come from, with funny style.

After that we will see a safe-deposit box room, its door made of steel, similar to those in the Bank Mandiri Museum, but the room inside at Bank Indonesia Museum is smaller. Inside the room we can found numismatic collection with historical information to provide a means of exchange trade of Indonesia. All was displayed neatly, complete with magnifier so visitors can see the money collection in detail. We will find a guide inside the room ready to answer any question from visitors. Outside the room there is a place to sit in a giant coins and big replica of 10,000 rupiah money and you can put your face on it.
